An integrative approach to trauma and parts work
Somatic Ego State Therapy® (SEST) is a powerful therapeutic approach that integrates
Somatic Experiencing® (SE)and Ego State Therapy (EST). Developed by Maggie Phillips,
SEST offers a gentle, effective and holistic way to work with trauma, inner conflicts and
persistent symptoms.
SEST focuses on the nervous system, the body, and ego states (parts of the personality).
This allows therapists to address difficulties such as anxiety, dissociation, chronic pain,
depression, shame, and early attachment or developmental trauma in a deep and
embodied way.
Participants will learn how to:
- identify and work with different ego states
- resolve inner conflicts that block healing
- regulate and stabilize the nervous system
- work safely with trauma-related and protective parts
- use both hypnotic and non-hypnotic methods
- support self-regulation and co-regulation
This training is suitable for therapists and helping professionals working with:
- trauma
- anxiety
- depression and psychosomatic symptoms
- dissociation and inner conflicts
- early and attachment trauma
